Subjects Offered
At Vector College we are guided by the CAPS Curricular framework which we follow strictly to ensure quality and pace at the highest standard.
CAPS provides teachers with detailed teaching and assessment guidelines on a grade-by-grade and subject-by-subject basis. The aim of CAPS is to minimise the administrative burden on teachers and ensure consistency and guidance for teachers. All teaching and learning have specific aims, skills, content focus areas and weighting.
Each subject has a study plan which specifies the knowledge, skills and concepts that the learners will be expected to acquire as they progress through their secondary school education.
Senior Phase Subjects (Grade 8-9)
The following are compulsory subjects offered by Vector College for Grades 8-9.
- English (First Language)
- First Additional Language (Vernacular e.g. Afrikaans, Sotho, Zulu, etc.)
- Mathematics/Mathematical Literacy
- Life Orientation
- Economic Management
- Natural Science/Social Science
- Technology
- Creative Arts
- Computer Literacy
FET Phase Subjects (Grade 10-12)
The following are compulsory subjects offered by Vector College for Grades 10-12.
