A new school, championing a new era in hospitality & service management education

The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE), Africa’s leading provider of private higher education, is proud to introduce a new IIE School of Hospitality and Service Management. The School will serve as a centre of service education excellence, representing the embodiment of a new gold standard in industry-aligned service and hospitality-focused qualifications, each underpinned by a strong commercial learning foundation. The IIE qualifications offered at the School will serve to equip future graduates with both the requisite commercial and operational acumen necessary to successfully navigate the private and public sectors. In addition, the School will afford students the opportunity to participate in an immersive service and/or hospitality-centric academic programme that delivers a rich experiential and applied learning pathway.

In response to the growing market demand, paired with a rapid global shift to a service-focused and experience economy, The IIE has established the IIE School of Hospitality & Service Management. Through the School, The IIE seeks to specifically address the rapidly expanding need for service, hospitality and customer-centric education, spanning entry-level through to management-level qualifications. The launch of the IIE School of Hospitality and Service Management signals a commitment to remodelling, reconceptualising and reimagining the provision of service-centred, industry-aligned professional qualifications.

Through the IIE School of Hospitality and Service Management, The IIE is determined to deliver global standard graduates into the expansive career opportunities available to graduates who earn a more comprehensive and expansive qualification encompassing both the hospitality and service management disciplines.

Following considerable research, industry liaison and engagement combined with rigorous content development, The IIE has a series of a few more registered and accredited contemporary hospitality and service management-based qualifications, ranging from Higher Certificates and Advanced Diplomas to a Degree. The new qualifications offered by The IIE will be available in both face-to-face contact learning as well as through online distance-based learning, expanding access and allowing greater flexibility.

The new IIE School of Hospitality and Service Management is part of the Faculty of Commerce adding to our curriculum team the full skills of the largest faculty at The IIE.
