Our nationally accredited courses provide learners with an opportunity to develop practical, vocational, creative and commercial skills.

We strive to produce a calibre of design practitioner who is able to work effectively in the fashion industry.

 

National accreditations

 

The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET)

Elizabeth Galloway Academy of Fashion Design is Registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training until 31 December 2024 as a private higher education institution under the Higher Education Act, 1997. Registration certificate NO.2011/HE07/001.

Council on Higher Education (CHE)

Elizabeth Galloway Academy of Fashion Design is accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE) as a Private Higher Education Training Institution. Our full-time Diploma in Fashion Design and our Advanced Diploma in Fashion programmes are quality assured by the Higher Education Quality Committee (HEQC).

South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA)

All qualifications in South Africa need to be registered with SAQA. Our full-time Degree in Fashion Design, Diploma in Fashion Design and Advanced Diploma in Fashion programmes are registered with SAQA.

Cape Town Fashion Council (CTFC)

 

Elizabeth Galloway Academy of Fashion Design is a member of the Fashion Education sub-council of Cape Town Fashion Council (CTFC). The CTFC’s purpose is to represent, develop, support and grow the Western Cape fashion sector. The CTFC’s vision is for the Western Cape’s fashion design sector to be nationally and globally recognised and desired for its uniqueness and excellence. The Council represents over 900 members including local fashion brands and industry stakeholders within the Clothing and Textiles value chain. The strategic goals of the CTFC are to provide initiatives that develop and support the fashion industry in the Western Cape as well as ensuring that local fashion designers access, maintain and grow their market share.
